Willem van Hoof is a Dutch artist. For the exhibition he was inspired by how we as humans always doubt ourselves and never feel that we are good enough or do enough.
As a maker he often hears a little voice in the back of his head when something is finished and people are able to critique his creation.

Van Hoof wanted to express his own insecure feelings with the piece and chose to create a trophy symbolizing “happiness” - something to celebrate with. For him the trophy celebrates the moment he started to accept the little demon in the back of his head.
